In today's competitive market, it's imperative to have an online presence. Believe me, your competitors do. Today rather than pick up the yellow pages or call 411, the easiest option is to get on the web to find something. I even look up businesses I know the names of ... to check their hours, new products, sales or new services they may be offering.
If you're in business and you are not where your competition is then you'll be left behind. Your competitors are on the web because it is a key strategy for staying ahead of the competition.
With a website you can use email to communicate with your customers, generate awareness of your services and products, and take advantage of having a professional website that's available 24/7 to your potential customers from the comfort of their own homes. Customers can look up product pictures, price lists, maps and phone numbers to your business making it more likely that they'll decide to call you. A professional website can enhance your business, increase sales and make you more accessible to your customers.
Now I hope you've noticed I've used the term "professional website". There's nothing worse than going to a home-made website that you can't figure out how to use. There's blaring music or graphics to distract you, you can't figure out how to get from one page to the next, or find the information you are looking for, and it's obviously an amateur that designed it. It ruins your credibility. Unless you intend to start a new career in web design, then hire a professional web designer to do the job. Don't make the mistake of letting your niece, cousin or Uncle Fred to build your website - it is your reputation on the line!
